The Civil Air Patrol Inspector General Senior Level Training Course is scheduled for 17-18 May 2008. The training is scheduled at the National Headquarters on Maxwell AFB, AL. Students should plan to arrive on Friday, 16 May. Sign-in will be 0730 hours Saturday morning in the NHQ Main Conference. Classes will be all day Saturday and will be released by 1700 on Sunday.
Cost:
There is no cost associated with the course, itself. Students will be responsible for paying for their own transportation, lodging and incidentals.
Billeting:
We have reserved 20 rooms at the Maxwell AFB VOQ for a Friday check-in and a Monday check-out (you may stay fewer nights if you wish). Room rate is $27.50 per night. DO NOT call the Maxwell Billeting Office. All members wishing to use the Maxwell VOQ should contact the course registrar (see below) and he will coordinate with the Billeting Office.
Directions:
Maxwell AFB is 2 miles west of the junction of I-65 and I-85, in Montgomery, AL. Those traveling southbound on either interstate should follow the signs for the Day Street exit (exit 0 on I-85 and exit 171 on I-65). The easiest way for those northbound on I-65 is to exit at Herron Street (exit 172), take the first two left turns, re-enter I-65 southbound and follow the signs for Day Street. Stay in the right lane on Day Street (past McDonalds and the moving company) until you can turn right into the base entry.
Once you have past through security, go over the bridge, through the traffic light and take the second right turn (Kirkpatrick Avenue). Go one block and park in the parking lot on your right.
For those staying in the VOQ, a guide will be outside the Billeting Office at 0700 on Saturday to lead students (or provide transportation by CAP van)to the NHQ.
Entry into NHQ will be by the upper door at the parking lot end of the building. There will be a sign.
